Gianna Kneepkens is having an outstanding season for the UCLA Bruins. She came over as a grad transfer from Utah this past off season. Looking to cap off her college career and boost her draft status. While also helping UCLA chase a national championship. She is currently checking the boxes for all three of those. As UCLA sits at 18-1 on the season, she is in the top 8 of many WNBA mock drafts and she is the best 3-point shooter in the nation. She has provided more than expected and has fit right into this team.

Until proven otherwise UCONN is still the best team in the nation. They sit at 19-0 on the season and are responsible for knocking UCLA out of the Final Four last season. Kneepkens was brought in to try and give the Bruins an extra boost to get over that hump. Now they have a starting five that can all score the ball and defend. They also could set a record by all being drafted in the first round at the conclusion of this season. This is the window to win now, and this is the best team that the women have ever had.

Kneepkens is proving to be the best 3-point shooter in the nation as she has shot 50% or better in 13 of her last 15 games. That is being done on five attempts per game, so it is not low volume either. She is also 50% or better in 14 of the 19 games this season and is 52-108 on the season, good for a 47.7% clip. Since starting the season slow and going 8-25 over the first four games. Over the last 15 games she is 44-84 which is good for 52.3%. She has been the perfect floor spacer and with all the talent on the Bruins she is getting looks she has never seen before.

Kneepkens has by far become the best transfer of the off-season. She is an integral part of what UCLA is accomplishing. The only loss on the season was to Texas. On a day where they struggled and Lauren Betts battled injury. If both the teams played again, UCLA wins by double digits. UCLA should be creeping up on No. 2 soon as their dominance cannot be overlooked. They’re currently a better team than South Carolina. The only team in their way right now is UCONN. They’re hoping their x-factor will continue to be Kneepkens.
