Gianna Kneepkens was the perfect grad transfer for UCLA this past season. She helped provide really good defense and she was also one of the best 3-point shooters in the nation. Helping lead the Bruins to the No. 2 ranking in the nation and on a 25-game winning streak after the loss to Texas. Setting the stage for the Bruins to go into the NCAA tournament with a No. 1 seed and a crash course with UCONN at some point. Looking to get over their kryptonite and bring home their first national championship.
Kneepkens has parlayed her great season and into being a top WNBA Draft pick. Yahoo Sports latest mock draft has her going No. 12 to the Connecticut Sun. Making her the fourth UCLA starter to go in the top 12 picks. Depending on need she could go even higher, as some mock drafts throughout the year, have her all the way as high as No. 7. She plays very smart basketball on both ends of the floor and will be a long time WNBA player.
The five best pure scoring prospects in the 2026 WNBA Draft, according to FanSided:

1. Azzi Fudd (UConn)
2. Olivia Miles (TCU)
3. KiKi Rice (UCLA)
4. Gianna Kneepkens (UCLA)
5. Flau’Jae Johnson (LSU)
Kneepkens spent her first four seasons at Utah. She was able to get an extra year of eligibility because in 2023 she only played in eight games. Allowing her to become a grad transfer and move over to UCLA. She has been everything and more for the Bruins this past season. Helping them on offense space the floor, while helping shut down some of the best wings in the nation on defense. She has slid right into this team as if she’s played with them for four years.
Kneepkens will be a perfect WNBA player. She can shoot the ball, and she can collapse the defense. All five brewing starters can play both ways as well setting them up to possibly have all five go in the first round of the WNBA Draft. Charlisse Leger-Walker will be on the brink of first and second round, but it is highly possible for her to get in that late first round as well. Now let’s hope the ladies finish this season off with a championship.
