George Toia has committed to the UCLA Bruins! The No. 14 ranked player in the state of Texas chose UCLA over Penn State, Arizona and Texas. Showing that UCLA is able to go and get big-time recruits again. Being able to beat out power four schools for top talent out of state. Texas has been very generous to UCLA over the last week. Allowing them to get some very good players to commit to the school from the 2027 class.

Toia is the No. 3 ranked defensive lineman in the state of Texas and No. 11 overall in the nation. He provides good size at the line standing at 6’2 and 305 pounds. Bob Chesney and his staff are absolutely dominating the 2027 class. Looking to build a powerhouse defense and they have some very good talent that has committed to this program. Just the fact that they have been able to beat out playoff teams for recruits is a phenomenal shift from this program.
Toia is everything as advertised, and when he gets to the program he will help the entire line. Most notably a guy like Sahir West on the edge. You cannot double team everybody on the defensive line and when you have a ton of talent, you’re going to be able to get to the quarterback. Interior lineman can affect the game single-handedly without even getting any sacks. They just draw attention and allow edge rushers to be able to beat their 1-on-1’s.

In 2025 he had 39 tackles, 12 tackles for loss and seven sacks while playing for Byron Nelson. He is set up to have a monster senior season and now has his commitment under wraps. Hopefully he will be able to go through and make it the signing day with UCLA and make it official. But this has the makings to be a big-time signing. He will get the opportunity to play early on with his strength that he has. His body is already college ready.
