Gabriela Jaquez started out her senior season as a potential second round pick in the 2026 WNBA Draft. She was seen as a prospect that a team could take and try to build her up. Little did we know 23 games into UCLA’s season. Jaquez is now considered to possibly be a top 10 pick. Many mock drafts have her going at number 10. Such as this one here from Winsidr. She has played her best basketball in the most important year of her career. Helping lead the Bruins to a 22-1 record and a No. 2 ranking in the country.
Gabriela Jaquez has improved her 3-point shooting in her senior year
Jaquez has improved every aspect of her game. She is also playing very good defense and can play isolation or zone defense. Using good communication and good footwork. The most impressive part is her ascent to being a 3-point shooter. Just two years ago she was shooting 25.9%. This season she is up to 44.7%. Showing that she has tirelessly worked on her game and it has paid off. You cannot leave her open as she has shown she is capable to knock it down almost half of the time.

She has gone from a glue player that does it all to being a star on a championship caliber team. Keeping the Jaquez UCLA name alive and well at UCLA. As her brother Jaime Jaquez Jr. was a star at UCLA as well and is now playing a big-time role in the NBA with the Miami Heat. Gabriela is looking to make two athletes in the family professional basketball players. She is very well on her way to doing that.
Her team is so stacked that it’s easy for her to go overlooked, but Gabriela Jaquez feels very underrated to me

She’s a perfect complementary piece who can hit open shots & create her own buckets off the dribble
And she does so while being VERY efficient pic.twitter.com/IlpW59w2HP
UCLA will rely heavily on her the remainder of the season in their championship Chase. This team has been built so well, and she does all the things that are needed. UCLA is a very good offense, but what’s even better as they are one of the best defenses in the country. All of the women have bought in to the program and take pride on that end. Jaquez is now top 10 consideration hopefully after ending her college career with a championship banner.
