Now that the NFL season is over and fans turn their attention back to the NBA, here is a look at the various former UCLA players who are currently playing in the NBA.
He is no longer one of the most electrifying players in the NBA, but Russell Westbrook found a home with the Denver Nuggets and is playing well. Earlier in his career, he earned All-Star honors nine times and claimed an NBA MVP title. This season is averaging 13 ppg, 6.4 apg, and shooting over 47% from the field.
Jrue Holiday has had an up-and-down season with the Boston Celtics: Holiday, a two-time All-Star and NBA champion, is celebrated for his exceptional defensive skills. Last season and especially this season, his averages in points, assists, and steals per game have dropped. He has been out with injuries more frequently this season, but he is still a valuable player for the Celtics.
Kevin Love has now been with the Miami Heat for three seasons. Love is a seasoned champion, leading the way with experience and skill for his younger, less experienced teammates. He has earned All-Star honors five times and has won an NBA championship once. This late in his career, he has not played in a ton of games and or averaged many minutes per game, but he is still in the NBA due to his leadership and his ability to mentor younger players for the Heat.
After spending seven and a half seasons with the Chicago Bulls, Zach LaVine, now a guard for the Sacramento Kings, has earned All-Star honors twice and consistently puts up impressive scoring numbers. He is still averaging about 20 points per game, as well as five assists per game. Since being traded to the Kings, he may be able to keep them in playoff contention.
Kevon Looney, a crucial player in the Warriors' championship runs, is celebrated for his defensive prowess and knack for securing loose balls. He has been with Golden State since he came into the league in 2015, and this season, he is the Warriors leading rebounder and averages over 16 minutes per game.
Norman Powell of the Los Angeles Clippers, an agile scorer, is having a career season during the All-Star break. He is averaging a career-best 24.2 points per game this season and he put up 41 points in a victory against Utah in the Clippers last game before the All-Star break.
Kyle Anderson, who started the season on the Golden State Warriors before being traded to the Miami Heat, has made a name for himself with his versatile play and three-point shooting. He is averaging over 15 minutes per game and is now a teammate of fellow former Bruin Kevin Love.
Lonzo Ball of the Chicago Bulls, a talented guard returning from an injury this season, is known for his exceptional passing skills. He is in his sixth season in the NBA, and he recently agreed to a two-year extension to remain with the Bulls.
In his eighth year in the league, Aaron Holiday is a solid guard for the Houston Rockets, known for his scoring ability and contributions off the bench.
