Former Bruin Moses Brown continues to have success in his basketball career

Moses Brown only spent one season at UCLA before heading off to the NBA. He had a very productive season in that one year as a Bruin. Averaging 9.7 points and 8.3 rebounds per game to go along with 1.9 blocks per game. At 7’1 he was a giant in the middle and could run the floor very well. Unfortunately, the one year he played at UCLA, it was filled with a ton of change. As Steve Alford was relieved of his duties and the roster battled change.

Brown would go undrafted in the 2019 NBA Draft and would latch onto the Portland Trail Blazers roster. He has bounced around too many NBA rosters and has been very good in the G League. With his most success coming in 2021 on a tanking Oklahoma City Thunder roster where he averaged 8.6 points and 8.9 rebounds per game in 43 games. Using his size to affect the game on offense and defense.

Brown could have benefited from staying another season at UCLA. The season that he did have with them was not ideal in terms of building draft stock. The following season, the Bruins would bring in Mick Cronin who is a defensive minded head coach. He could’ve done much better with him before testing the NBA Draft waters. Brown at 7’1 was bound to be highly coveted by teams. Just based on his size and defensive potential.

Brown is now playing for a team called Criollos de Caguas in Puerto Rico. It is good to see his basketball career continuing to be good to him. His one year at UCLA was a good one statistical wise and he is a UCLA Bruin alum. We love to see when they can succeed. You will forever be remembered for this moment with teammate Jaylen Hands keeping his head up.
