Filip Jović became the first transfer portal player for the UCLA Bruins this offseason. The 21-year old freshman who played at Auburn last year as a talented player that will help the Bruins. He averaged 6.3 points and 4 rebounds per game this past season and did so on 64% shooting from the field. He had a very good last four games helping Auburn win the NIT. He averaged 14 points per game on 66% shooting the last four games, including the championship. While also playing 44 professional international games in the ABA league and averaging 10.6 points on 59.5% shooting per game.

In the championship game, where Auburn beat Tulsa. Jović had 12 points on 6-10 shooting. He operates a very smooth game at 6’8 and can be a good wing player for UCLA. With the Bruins losing Skyy Clark, it opens up the opportunity to go with two guards and a wing. Rather than go with a three-guard set. This still allows the team to keep Eric Dailey Jr. at the four position and get a true center.
This was a very good gift for Mick Cronin. It goes along well with him, wanting to get a European type player in a very funny interview he talked about what UCLA needed. With three years of eligibility remaining, this is a good building piece for UCLA. Especially since their team has gotten younger eligibility wise so far this offseason. With Donovan Dent, Tyler Bilodeau and Clark on their way out.

With two recruits in Joe Philon and Javonte Floyd and now Jović. That replaces three seniors with two freshman and a sophomore. UCLA figures to be a lot more busy as the transfer portal season moves on. But this has the makings to be a really good commit. Jović showed his talent at Auburn and now gets to see if he can keep up his consistent play from the NIT where he showed to be very capable.
