February 23rd was a day to remember for UCLA athletics

UCLA fans will remember Sunday, February 23, 2025, as an amazing day for Bruin athletics.

UCLA baseball started the season playing very well, having won their first four games. Then they were upset by Texas A&M - Corpus Christi, losing by only one run. However, they bounced back with a win against Washington State. Sunday came, and they were playing the undefeated Michigan State Spartans. They were down 6-0 early, but they came roaring back and won by six runs to start the Sunday Funday for UCLA athletics.

The UCLA gymnastics team is undefeated in Big Ten play, and they went on the road and faced off against No. 15 Michigan. The Bruins also gave the Wolverines their first conference loss of the season, and UCLA now sits atop the Big Ten standings ahead of Michigan State and Minnesota, who are both 5-1.

The UCLA women's basketball team went on the road and was challenged by Iowa. The Hawkeyes entered this game winning six of their last seven games. One of those victories was against USC, which is the Trojans only loss in Big Ten play this season. Iowa led at halftime after an amazing second-quarter performance, leading the Bruins by a score of 36-29 entering the third quarter. However, UCLA responded with a strong third quarter and went on to win a close one to stay tied with USC at the top of the Big Ten standings.

The UCLA men's basketball team went into their game against Ohio State looking to get back on track after being upset at home in their previous game against Minnesota. The Buckeyes played well, especially defensively, and the Bruins were only up four points at the half. UCLA, behind Eric Dailey Jr.'s 20 points, came away with the victory to give the Bruins their 20th win of the season and now UCLA is in 5th place in the Big Ten standings.
