After securing the commitment from Wayne Knight to come to UCLA. The Bruins made another big splash by landing former James Madison wide receiver Landon Ellis. Which is seen as another really good addition by Bob Chesney and staff. They’re working hard to bring in players to change the outlook for UCLA football. Ellis is a big target standing at 6’2 and 213 pounds. Giving Nico Iamaleava a target that he can throw to and win a jump ball battle.

Ellis this past season had 36 catches for 624 yards and five touchdowns. Playing a huge role on a team that went to the College Football Playoff. Ellis had a really solid game as well versus Oregon bringing in three catches for 83 yards. Including a 50 yarder. His accolades included finishing Third Team All-Sun Belt with a healthy 17.3 yards per catch average. Showing his ability to be able to stretch the field.
Ellis began his college career at Richmond playing two seasons there for the Spiders. He had 70 catches and 802 yards to go along with five touchdowns. He arrived at James Madison last year with two years of eligibility remaining. With him now landing at UCLA, he will have one more season to impress in college. Going to a familiar system he will now get to play in the Big Ten with many people watching. Giving him the perfect opportunity to showcase what he has.

Wednesday was a very busy day for the Bruins. They landed many players that are going to help them this upcoming season. It is an exciting time to be a Bruins fan. Chesney looks ready to leave the team back in the right direction. There is renewed energy throughout the fan base. It also shows the culture that is built. These players love playing for Chesney. If they didn’t, they wouldn’t all be following him to UCLA. That is a story in itself.
