Brian Rowe Jr. was one of the 41 transfers that Bob Chesney and his staff brought in for the 2026 season. He is expected to play a large role at the receiver position. He played very sparingly in 2025 for South Carolina, having 19 catches for 149 yards. With three years of eligibility remaining, he has the opportunity to be a big piece in what UCLA is trying to build and become a consistent winner.

Rowe Jr. was the No. 64 ranked transfer portal receiver. He was the second highest ranked at the receiver position to be brought in. The only one that as higher was Aidan Mizell who came in at No. 38. Rowe Jr. ranked as the No. 318 ranked transfer in the portal class as well. At 5’11 and 170 pounds, he provides good speed and fluidity at the receiver position and another target for Nico Iamaleava.
Rowe Jr. was able to flash his skills in the 2026 spring game for UCLA. As players jockey for position and playing time in the 2026 season. There is a lot of untapped talent at the receiver position that players are vying for snaps. With Landon Ellis, Aidan Mizell, and Leland Smith getting good reps on the outside. Rowe Jr., Semaj Morgan and Mikey Matthews provide good speedy options with versatility.

Rowe Jr. is a very athletic talent. He also starred in basketball and track in high school. He had 50 catches for 1,063 yards and 15 touchdowns his senior year of high school at Jay M. Robinson in North Carolina. This was an under the radar transfer for UCLA that can pay off big. As his multiple years of eligibility will allow him to grow within this system. He is a name to keep an eye on for the Bruins.
