Sometimes all that a player needs is a chance. That is the case for Braden Pegan who spent three years at UCLA and didn’t receive many opportunities. After the 2024 season he decided to hit the transfer portal. Transferring to Utah State to try and get an opportunity to make an impact. He did that and more is he finished the season with 60 catches and 926 yards and five touchdowns. While becoming an All-Mountain West First team selection for the 6-6 Aggies.
Pegan looking to build on his success this season. Entered the transfer portal again recently. Looking to take his talents to a bigger school to showcase his skills for his senior season. Some fans would even welcome him back to the Bruins for a second go around. Hoping that he will be utilized better this time around. As he only had one catch for seven yards in three seasons for the Bruins.

Pegan is a lanky player that uses his strides well to be able to get to the top level. Standing at 6’4 and 200 pounds he can win contested catches and get good position on corners. He still has size that he can add to his frame to make him better with jams off of the line. But that height can’t be taught, you are either tall or not. Jump ball receivers are hard to come by because of that attribute. He has shown his ability to go up and get the ball at the highest point. Corners have a tough time giving up three to five inches of height on him.

Due to his season this past year. There will be a Division I school that will give him a scholarship. There will be a lot of UCLA fans that wouldn’t mind having him back. But the times are different in a whole different coaching staff. It seems like a long shot, but maybe being from San Juan Capistrano will have some pull on him. He could be a great addition for any offense the Bruins plan on running. This time actually giving him the opportunity to make an impact.
