Baye Ndongo has been a solid three-year contributor at Georgia Tech. He stepped in from day one and been able to produce on the court. With a total of 1,133 career points, he will have one year of eligibility remaining as he hits the transfer portal. The upcoming senior has played in 90 career games with averages of 12.6 points and 8.5 rebounds per game. He has shot 54.9% from the floor and although there is not a large volume of attempts he is 35.6% from 3-point range.

Ndongo is a very athletic player and shows it on the defensive end. He averages about a block per game and moves very fluidly to his spots. Using his 7’3 wingspan to help clog passing lanes or contest shots. He stands at 6’9 and will step in immediately to a team and contribute right away. UCLA is in need of more athleticism and someone who can help out Xavier Booker block some shots.

UCLA will need to be busy in the transfer portal. As they’re bringing in the talented Joe Philon as a four-star recruit. But outside of that, they don’t have any more players that are scheduled to come in. That’s where the portal becomes very important. There is a ton of talent that has entered and players that fit the Mick Cronin mold. Ndongo can be one of those players that provides offensive upside and his athleticism on defense is already something that is very intriguing.

Ndongo has NBA type of athleticism and can continue to grow his game in his senior season. UCLA does not have a back to the basketball player or someone that operates in the paint. That should be an emphasis in this offseason. Ndongo has the tools to be able to provide that. He shouldn’t cost a ton on the NIL market compared to some of the players recently that have hit. It also remains to be seen how much UCLA will have at their disposal to get players in.
