Anthony Frias II played the largest impact of any player on the UCLA Bruins offense against Maryland. He only had four carries but those four went for a total of 97 yards. With UCLA struggling on offense, he broke loose for a 55-yard touchdown to get the Bruins on the board for the night. He showed tremendous vision as he hit the hole.

After that carry, Frias II had two more carries for seven yards until the most important moment of the night came. With UCLA on the fringe of field goal range he took a carry and broke a few tackles and scampered for 35 yards. Ultimately leading to the game winning field goal and UCLA extending its winning streak to three games.

Frias II with those two long carries saved the night and also played his way into the running back rotation. This gives Jerry Neuheisel the opportunity to have a ground and pound approach and then use Jalen Berger in more pass catching opportunities. It is a good problem to have as you can never have to many running backs.
With Anthony Woods hampered by an injury, it will be integral for Berger and Frias II to continue the bulk of work in the backfield. With Indiana expected to put up a lot of points, UCLA will need to bring their best offense. If they can get a good game out of Frias II and Berger that will help them keep in the game as much as they can on Saturday.
