A former Michigan State running back came back to East Lansing and ruined the Spartans homecoming game as he got the UCLA's offense going in the first half.

After Michigan State took an early 7-3 lead in the game, Jalen Berger stepped up in a big way to get the UCLA offense going.

On a second down and nine yards to go, Berger took a direct snap 16 yards for a touchdown to give the Bruins' a 10-7 lead.

Then on first and goal, Nico Iamaleava found Berger in the endzone for a touchdown reception to put UCLA up 17-7 early in the second quarter.

Heading into halftime, Berger's stats don't jump out at you, but he had four carries for 34 yards and a rushing touchdown and a touchdown reception. He greatly helped UCLA go into the locker room with a 24-7 lead.
