2012 Holiday Bowl:  Nick Florence outduels Brett Hundley

In 2012, the Jim Mora era began at UCLA and the Bruins hit the ground running with Brett Hundley at quarterback. Hundley led the team to a 9-2 start, but the Bruins lost their last three games including back-to-back matchups with Stanford, first to conclude the regular season, then in the Pac-12 Championship game.

The fifth loss of the season and third straight for UCLA came in the Holiday Bowl, 49-26 to Baylor. Art Briles had Baylor’s offense humming, even without Robert Griffin III, who led the team the year before. Nick Florence threw for 188 yards and two touchdowns on 10/13 passing in this game, but it was the rushing attack that was key.

Baylor ran for 306 yards and held UCLA to just 33 on the ground. Brett Hundley attempted 50 passes and completed 26 of them for 329 yards and three touchdowns, but it wasn’t nearly enough.
