2011 Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl: Nearly Pac-12 champs

After UCLA’s 2006 loss to Florida State in the Emerald Bowl, the Bruins headed back to AT&T Park in San Francisco to face Illinois after going 6-6 in the regular season in Rick Neuheisel’s final year at UCLA. Mike Johnson took over for the final two games of the year, both losses.

The Bruins dropped this one 20-14 to Illinois, who also had an interim head coach, Vic Koenning. Despite only going 6-6 in the regular season, UCLA made it to the Pac-12 championship game, the first ever after conference realignment.
