2006 Emerald Bowl: Bowl game on a baseball field
The momentum from the prior season faded in a big way in 2006. The Bruins fell back to 7-5 in the regular season and finished the year at 7-6 after a 44-27 loss to Florida State in the Emerald Bowl.
The Emerald Bowl was played at AT&T Park in San Francisco and Florida State’s offense put on a show in the baseball stadium. The Seminoles’ defense got in on the scoring too though as Tony Carter sealed the win with a fourth-quarter, 86-yard pick-six.
Florida State was eventually hit with sanctions and forced to vacate the 2006 Emerald Bowl, but that does not mean it counts as a UCLA win.
