2003 Silicon Valley Bowl: Bruins finish under .500

UCLA’s first season under Karl Dorrell didn’t exactly restore the program to its previous glory. Dorrell led the Bruins to six regular season wins and an appearance in the Silicon Valley Bowl against Fresno State.

Dorrell’s team lost to Fresno State 17-9 and Rodney Davis was named the MVP of the game. Davis ran for 77 yards on 13 carries and caught one pass for 10 yards. UCLA finished the season at 6-7 and was unranked.
