UCLA vs. Oregon State Football: Location, time, prediction, and more

No. 18 ranked UCLA travels to play No. 15 ranked Oregon State as both teams have aspirations of playing in the Pac-12 championship game this season.

The UCLA Bruins and Oregon State Beavers historically speaking are two of the oldest and most successful football programs in the Pac-12 Conference. They have met on the gridiron 64 times since 1930, with UCLA holding a distinct advantage with a 43-17-4 record against Oregon State. In recent years, the rivalry has been much more competitive in comparison to the earlier years of the series between the two schools.

Oregon State both from 1999-2000 and 2008-2009 won two straight games against the Bruins and that made this rivalry more competitive. UCLA for example at times has dominated the Beavers in this series as the Bruins have won five straight games against the Oregon State from 2001 to 2007 for example.

Unfortunately, this series between these two schools that dates back over 90 years is more than likely to end after this season, as UCLA will no longer be a member of the Pac-12 Conference starting the 2024 football season.

Oregon State

Oregon State’s best victory this season was a win over then-top 10-ranked Utah at home. The Beavers’ defense played very well and held the Utes to only seven points. Oregon State has two road wins this season against San Jose State and most recently, Cal who they won in a high-scoring game with the final score being 52-40.

UCLA

The Bruins’ most impressive win this year was last week against Washington State at home. UCLA’s defense came up big against the Cougars offense and the Bruins’ running game was very productive to get them a much-needed win to keep their Pac-12 conference championship hopes alive.

UCLA defeated Washington State 25-17 at home and went on the road and beat San Diego State 35-10. The Bruins lost on the road to Utah by a score of 14-7.

Oregon State beat Utah 21-7 at home and defeated San Diego State at home as well by a score of 26-9. The Beavers lost to Washinton State on the road by a final score of 38-35.

2. Dante Moore taking it to the next level by having zero turnovers and throwing the ball for over 250 yards against Oregon State.
3. The Bruins’ defense creating at least two turnovers and limiting the run game of the Beavers.
4. UCLA field goal kicker RJ Lopez is able to connect on multiple field goals from 35 yards and beyond in needed to do so.

Best game played between these two schools: These two teams have tied one another four times. The two teams did not play one another from 1959 to 1966 and when they played one another in the LA Memorial Coliseum, the two teams battled to a memorable 16-16 tie. Both schools tied for second place in the final year of the Athletic Association of Western Universities consisting of California having both a 7-2-1 record. The following season the conference would be renamed the PAC 8 conference.
