This was the Bruins’ first win over USC since 2018, and it was a huge win for the program. UCLA trailed 10-7 going into the second quarter, but they outscored USC 34-16 in the second half to secure the victory. The win helped UCLA finish the season with an 8-4 record and a berth in the Sun Bowl. It was their best overall finish since going 10-3 in 2014.

UCLA led 14-10 at halftime and never looked back, as they played well in the second half against Utah on both sides of the ball. The win helped propel UCLA to a 6-0 start with their win over the No. 11 ranked Utes. It was also the first victory over Utah since they defeated the Utes 17-9 in 2015. The following week UCLA was ranked No. 9 after their impressive win against Utah.
