UCLA Basketball: The case for the No. 1 2023 Recruiting Class
By Ryan Kay
There has been an update for the 2023 recruiting class rankings and UCLA is making a strong case for having the No. 1 recruiting class.
These rankings are per 247 Sports Composites

⭐⭐⭐⭐ Ilane Fibleuil France SG ranking 3

Berke Buyuktuncel No. 36
Ilane Fibleuil No. 43
Sebastian Mack No. 66
Jan Vide No. 68
Brandon Williams No. 70
Devin Williams No. 81
To sum up, how highly rated this class is, the 2023 class for UCLA has six four-stars and one five-star, three players ranked in the top 45 nationally and six ranked in the top 70 nationally, as well as five players ranked in the top 10 nationally at their position.
Other recruiting sites have not updated their rankings like 247 Sports has but if On3, ESPN, and Rivals were to have updated their rankings, it would be very comparable to what 247 Sports has the individual players ranked.
In ranking the top five recruiting classes for the 2023 class, UCLA was ranked No. 3 overall. Now, after the newest rankings, a very strong argument can be easily made that Kentucky and UCLA are tied for the best recruiting class for 2023.
Even though the other recruiting services have not updated their rankings of late, it doesn’t mean that UCLA has an amazing recruiting class with all incoming recruits ranked 92 or higher by 247 Sports.
The class as a whole collectively has a good mix of size, skill, and athleticism. If they can stay healthy and develop, they could be a major force in college basketball for the next few years.
