UCLA Basketball: Top 5 potential non-conference games in 2023
By Ryan Kay
Even though the bracket has not been announced for the Maui Maui Invitational, it would be an outstanding game if UCLA were to go up against Marquette in the non-conference tournament.
The last time these two programs played against one another was in 2021 when UCLA went on the road to play the Golden Eagles. Marquette and UCLA have only faced each other twice in regular-season games over the years. Those two matchups have been part of non-conference schedules, allowing both teams to test their skills against formidable opponents early in the season.
Overall, the history between Marquette and UCLA is limited but in both games, the margin of victory was in the single digits. While UCLA holds the advantage in terms of national championships won, Marquette has had its fair share of successes as well. Their two recent meetings on the court have provided exciting moments for college basketball fans and if they were to see one another in the Maui Maui Invitational, that would be a win for college basketball fans as well.
