Week 2
The San Diego State Aztecs and the UCLA Bruins have a longer history in football than some may think. The two schools are located just 120 miles apart, and they sometimes recruit against each other for student-athletes in Southern California.
The two schools first met on the gridiron in 1922, and they have played each other a total of 23 times since then. UCLA holds a commanding lead in the all-time series, with a record of 22-1-1.
The Bruins’ very impressive unbeaten streak against the Aztecs came from 1922 to 2009 when they won all but one game with one game ending in a tie in 1924. However, San Diego State finally broke that Bruin’s unbeaten streak in 2019, with a 23-14 victory over UCLA.
