UCLA Athletics: First Week of May games

This week in UCLA Athletics has some baseball and softball games as well as Bruin teams competing in their sports NCAA tournament.

There are many games and events going on in UCLA athletics this week so take a moment to look at all of the sporting events including multiple teams participating in their sports NCAA tournament events this week.

Baseball

Game 1

Date and Time: May 2 (Tue) 6:00 PM PT

Opponent: UC Irvine

Location: Irvine, CA Cicerone Field at Anteater Ballpark

TV/Streaming: Pac-12 Insider

Game 2

Location: Los Angeles, CA Jackie Robinson Stadium

Game 3

Game 4

Prediction: The Bruins have played some talented teams of late and UCLA should do very well this week winning all four games to improve to 28-15-1 overall and 14-9-1 in Pac-12 play.

Softball

The Bruins softball team defeated BYU 7-2 on Monday to improve to 48-4 overall on the season.

Game 1

Date and Time: May 5 (Fri) 1:00 PM PT

Opponent: Loyola Marymount

Location: Los Angeles, CA Easton Stadium

Game 2

Prediction: The UCLA softball team has had a phenomenal season thus far being ranked No. 2 in the country. The Bruins should be able to win their last two games of this week to go to 50-4 overall.

Men’s Volleyball

Date and Time: May 4 (Thu) 2:00 PM PT

Opponent: Winner of Long Beach State/Grand Canyon

Location: Fairfax, VA EagleBank Arena

TV/Streaming: ncaa.com

NCAA Bracket: Tournament Bracket

Prediction: UCLA as the No. 1 seed in the tournament, should defeat either Long Beach State or Grand Canyon to advance to the semifinals of the NCAA tournament.

Beach Volleyball

Date and Time: May 5 (Fri) 7:00 AM PT

Opponent: Winner of UT Martin/Texas A&M-Corpus Christi

Location: Gulf Shores, AL

TV/Streaming: ESPNU

NCAA Bracket: Tournament Bracket

Prediction: The Bruins earned the No. 1 seed in the tournament with an impressive 37-3 record and UCLA should be able to get a first-round victory to advance to the second round of the tournament.

Men’s Tennis

Location: Lexington, Ky.

NCAA Bracket: Tournament Bracket

Prediction: It is No. 26 Northwestern who on paper is the favorite but the Bruins have played a tough schedule and look for No. 36 UCLA to pull off the upset in round one.

Women’s Tennis

Location: Durham, N.C.

NCAA Bracket: Tournament Bracket

Prediction: The Bruins had won four straight before losing to Washington in the Pac-12 tournament. UCLA is ranked No. 20 and is the favorite against Texas Tech. The Bruins should win and will likely go up against No. 6 ranked Duke in the second round.
