Get ready to rally and scare up some of that famous energy, Mick Cronin, because your UCLA Bruins don’t get much downtime between their narrow loss to the Arizona Wildcats and their first-round March Madness matchup.

Coming off two distinguished tournament runs with unfortunate endings, the UCLA Bruins will begin their 2023 journey in Sacramento, CA on Thursday night, playing the latest game of Day 1 of the tourney.

If they win, they light the beam like the Sacramento Kings. If they lose to 15-seed UNC Asheville? They do a lot of soul searching.

You laugh, but UNC Asheville is riding a nine-game winning streak, and has won 18 of their last 19.

How to watch March Madness 2023: TV schedule and live stream info

Bruins fans can watch (and stress over) their team on the CBS family of networks once again this year (cue your annual Googling of what channel TruTV is, exactly — it’s 246 on DirecTV). It’s an especially relevant Google for this particular first-round matchup.

CBS, TBS, TNT and, yes, TruTV will be your television homes for 2023’s tournament, and CBS has also released expanded streaming coverage on March Madness Live.

If the Bruins defeat UNC Asheville, they’ll move on to battle the winner of Northwestern-Boise State for the right to advance to the Sweet 16/Elite 8 in Las Vegas, NV, the next step on the road to NRG Stadium in Houston. Don’t be fooled by Northwestern’s Big 10 Tournament loss to upstart Penn State; Boo Buie has as much Kemba Potential as anyone in this field, and can ignite on a hot streak at the drop of a hat.

Whatever. Go Bruins. You got this.
