Special Teams

In college football, the most important area of special teams is experience. Colorado has that.

Senior kicker James Stefanou is back, and although he is just 34/47 on his career, Stefanou has long distance and provides stability for the Buffs. Stefanou is 33 years old, and although he has been banged up in recent years, he arrived in Boulder from Australia has a premier talent. Stefanou, if he can stay healthy, might be the best kicker in the conference.

Colorado will have a new face at punter, as Josh Watts, another Australian, will handle the punting duties. Between Watts and Stefanou, Colorado could have a very interesting special teams unit in 2020.

For UCLA, both their kicker and punter, as well as their long-snapper will be new faces this year. There is no telling who will win either of the three jobs, but any time you are experiencing a massive overhaul on special teams, there will be speed bumps. This puts the big advantage in the hands of the Buffaloes.
