UCLA Softball: 2-seed Bruins to host NCAA Tournament Regional

The UCLA Softball team has received the #2 overall seed in the Women’s College World Series and will, once again, host the first round regional.

After finishing the regular season 46-5 and claiming their 10th Conference Championship (their first since 2009), the UCLA softball team have been chosen as the #2 overall seed in this year’s NCAA Softball Tournament.

With this seeding, they will once again host the NCAA Regionals which will take place this weekend at Easton Stadium on the campus of UCLA. This is the sixth consecutive year that the Bruins will host the NCAA Regionals.

The Bruins start things off on Friday when they will play Weber State (26-19) at 8 p.m. PT. They will also mix it up with Missouri (32-23) and Cal State Fullerton (38-16) in the double-elimination setup.

Friday, May 17

  • Game 1: Cal State Fullerton vs. Missouri, 5:30 p.m., ESPNU
  • Game 2: Weber State vs. UCLA, 8:30 p.m., ESPNU

Saturday, May 18

  • Game 3: Game 1 winner vs. Game 2 winner, 3 p.m., ESPN Family of Networks
  • Game 4: Game 1 loser vs. Game 2 loser, 5:30 p.m., ESPN Family of Networks
  • Game 5: Game 3 loser vs. Game 4 winner, 8 p.m., ESPN Family of Networks

Sunday, May 19

  • Game 6: Game 3 winner vs. Game 5 winner, 2 p.m., ESPN Family of Networks
  • Game 7: Game 6 winner vs. Game 6 loser (if necessary), 4:30 p.m., ESPN Family of Networks
