In this emergency podcast, WBS gives a quick examination of the UCLA basketball hiring process that has ended with Mick Cronin and where it could go under his guidance.

It has finally happened. 99 days after Steve Alford was fired as the head of the UCLA basketball program, the Bruins have their new coach as Mick Cronin is going from Cincinnati to Westwood.

After a roller coaster search that spanned more than three months, UCLA is finally bringing in the 14th head coach of the most storied program in college basketball history.

In this quick edition of the What’s Bruin Show podcast, I talk about a few quick thoughts in regards to the entire process. How did we get here, what rejections did we had to endure in the last few weeks and what will Cronin mean to the future of UCLA basketball?

I also talk about the perception of this hire. How does this make UCLA look as they had to go to their fourth choice? What do UCLA fans think of this hire? I then briefly discuss what is in store for UCLA with Cronin in charge. If anything, defense will be had.

We will be publishing our full episode later in the week with expanded coverage.
