4. He Will Have the Support of the Bruin Faithful

There is no doubt that Cronin will have a lot of success at UCLA, but that success will progress a lot faster with the support of the Bruin Faithful.

If you remember the last time UCLA hired a coach to run the men’s basketball program, there was a lot of push back. Because of Steve Alford’s role in a sexual assault case against one of his former players at Iowa, UCLA fans did not warm up to the new coach and fan apathy, after a botched hire, was very present.

After Alford s termination, UCLA fans have started to come back and more will follow, especially if Cronin is successful early. With this new coach in control (who is baggage-free and a proven coach with a strong resume), Bruins will once again start to fill Pauley Pavilion and that is going to be a key to UCLA’s success.

It is unfortunate that interest in UCLA hoops has wained in the last six seasons, but there is now a reason to give all-out support.
