The Backup

Alex Olesinski (PF), R-Sr, 6’10, 220

Kenny Nwuba (C), 6’9, 245

The Bruins are going to have a lot of players to choose from next season if they decide to go deep into their depth chart. UCLA lost three players to start each of the last two seasons, whether it was to suspension or injury and having a lot of depth saved them from falling into the abyss of the Pac-12 cellar.

Though they might not see a lot of time next season, pending everyone is healthy and out of trouble, Olesinski and Nwuba bring height and knowledge to the team next year.

As a senior, Olesinski will bring knowledge and experience into the 2019-20 season. In the last two years, he has been asked to step up and take on a load that he wouldn’t normally carry. Though he has raw skills, for the most part, he hustles on every play.

Nwuba did not get a lot of time on the court last year but he has been a working side by side the Bruin bigs for almost a year and knows how to play with them. Hopefully, his talents can be amplified with the new head man.
