Here is a brief rundown of all the exits, number assignments, position changes and injuries that I got a glimpse of on Day 1 of Spring Practice.

No Longer With The Team

DL Rick Wade – It has been announced that the senior is no longer with the team due to a neck injury that will require surgery.

LB Mique Juarez – Though it has not been confirmed that he has left the team, he was not at practice on Tuesday morning.

LB Marcus Moore – It has been confirmed that he is no longer with the team.

DL Moses Robinson-Carr – It has been confirmed that he is no longer with the team.

Number Assignments and Re-Assignments

DB William Nimmo, #32 – This was Mique Juarez’s number on the defensive side.

QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson, #1 – The starting quarterback is now officially QB1.

RB Martell Irby, #6 – The second most used running back from last season has a new number.

RB Keegan Jones, #18 – The speedster is finally on campus as has his first number at UCLA.

Injuries (Players in Non-Contact Jerseys)

LB Josh Woods (ACL) – The senior linebacker is still recovering from his ACL injury he suffered during fall camp in 2018.

DB Kenny Churchwell (ACL) – There were high expectations with Churchwell in 2018 which were slowed as he also suffered an injury to his ACL and is slowly getting back into game shape.

DB William Nimmo (unknown) – It has not been specified what type of injury the true freshman is suffering from or how long he will be out.

WR Dymond Lee (ankle) – The receiver had apparently suffered this injury during the off-season.

Position Switch

Matt Lynch QB ➡️ TE – Lynch has been a quarterback for the last three years but has moved over to tight ends. This thins out the QB depth and adds more to the tight ends.
