Prediction

The UCLA Football team did not come out this past Saturday the way most fans expected. They were slow for a Kelly offense. The Bruins were expected to come out and snap the ball every 15-20 seconds. In reality, they snapped the ball every 25-30. That is not going to tire a defense, especially one that has something to prove.

If Kelly does decide to pick up the pace, it might be the only chance the Bruins have in beating Oklahoma, but even that is a stretch as the defense needs to do their part in slowing down the powerful Sooner offense.

The betting line for this game opened at 25.5 points in favor of Oklahoma (and some even have it at 30). That is very telling and quite possibly what might happen. With UCLA traveling to Norman and playing a midday game in the hot (and possibly rain-soaked) weather, it does not look like Chip Kelly will get his first victory in blue and gold this weekend.

Unless UCLA really baffles Oklahoma with some “out of nowhere” plays and manages to pick up the pace, this contest has the Sooners written all over it.
