UCLA Basketball: A look at the six-player freshman class
Kenny Nwuba, PF/C, 6-9, 250
Prospect Rating: ★★★ | Position Ranking: 36 | National Ranking: 246
What He Brings
Nwuba is tall, long and very active around the basket. Though he might see the least amount of time among these freshmen, whenever he is on the court he should be a positive addition for the Bruins. He is also able to get in the face of his opponents and block a few shots along the way. Nwuba is also very lanky and needs to focus on ball control, so if that improves, he could be a very powerful tool.
How He Will Fit
Nwuba might not get a ton of minutes to start as he has a few things to work on, but if there’s anything the Bruins are in need of, it’s an active low post player. With Thomas Welsh gone, the Bruins are going to have to rely on their young big men for rebounds and if Nwuba can make his presence felt, he could be a solid role player off the bench.
How Many Minutes Will He Play
10-20 minutes. Nwuba can bring intensity, as well as a bit of defense, but he might be overshadowed by the other big men.
