UCLA Football Early 2018 Schedule Preview: Oregon Ducks
Oregon Special Teams
Oregon was not the best with their kicking game and they might take a step back as K Aidan Schneider is gone. Word is, punter Adam Stack might do double-duty in kickoffs and punts.
On the other side of special teams, Oregon should continue to do well with kickoff returns as they averaged 22.7 yards (3rd in the Pac-12). Though punt returns could use a boost as they only had 6.4 yards per return (8th).
Final Analysis
So how is this clash of rising stars going to pan out? By this time of the season, both should find their nitch. The offenses should find their flow and the defenses will be all out in terms of aggression.
Still, Oregon has two definitive advantages: they are a lot more stable than UCLA and this game is in Eugene. There is no doubt Kelly will have these Bruins playing up to his demands, but it will take time while Oregon already has a season and a half with this roster and style.
In addition to this, if UCLA has had any success by this time of the year, Kelly is going to hear it from the Oregon crowd, especially since he is no longer in green, but powderkeg blue.
Prediction
Oregon 45 – UCLA 38
