UCLA Football: A look at the Bruins’ future non-conference opponents
2021
- Aug 28 vs Hawai’i
- Sept 4 vs LSU
- Sept 18 vs Fresno State
Things really start to get interesting in 2021. It will not be as easy as 2020, but the Bruins have a huge advantage as they have three home non-conference games. Now that is a way to start the season. UCLA once again plays local foes, but they welcome a huge SEC team as the LSU Tigers and their wonderful fan base will travel to Pasadena (this is the first time both teams will meet). Not too difficult, but things get harder as UW and Oregon are back on the Pac-12 schedule.
2022
- Sept 3 vs Bowling Green
- Sept 10 at Michigan
- Sept 17 vs South Alabama
It looks as though UCLA is starting to schedule the way big time programs schedule. A few cupcakes and one elite Power 5 team. Bowling Green and South Alabama do not exactly scream “difficult”, but those two games will be overshadowed by the Bruins’ trip to the Big House. This will be the 12th matchup between the two (the Wolverines lead the series 8-3) and the first meeting since 2000 (UCLA won 23-20).
2023
- Sept 2 vs Michigan
- Sept 9 at San Diego State
- Sept 16 vs Coastal Carolina
The 13th meeting between UCLA and Michigan will take place in 2023 when the Wolverines return to Pasadena. The Blue and Gold and the Blue and Maize once again meet at the Rose Bowl for the 4th time in their history. One of those meetings was in the 1983 Rose Bowl Game when the Bruins beat the Wolverines, 24-14. Things get easier after that game with a trip down the 5 freeway as they face San Diego State and then return home for a game against Coastal Carolina.
