One of the top dual-threat quarterbacks in the nation, 4-star Jayden Daniels (Cajon/San Bernardino, CA), has named his top eight schools and UCLA football has made the cut.

Simply put, UCLA football head coach Chip Kelly is getting after it on the recruiting trail. In the last few weeks, his Bruins coach staff have been out and about visiting recruits and handing out offers. One, in particular, has just reciprocated the love as Jayden Daniels has the Bruins in his Top 8.

Daniels is one of the top dual-threat QBs in the nation. The 4-star Inland Empire product received an offer from UCLA early in May and after a few weeks, has the Bruins in his top 8 with USC, Penn State, Nebraska, Cal, Georgia, Texas A&M and Utah.

It gets even better, Bruins fans.

According to 247Sports

, Daniels is leaning toward UCLA. Quite heavily.

Since Chip Kelly has taken over in Westwood, he has been able to pique the interest of a lot of recruits. This last signing day, he was able to get the signature of several top prospects including top receivers Bryan Addison, Michael Ezeike and Chase Cota, linebacker Bo Clavert, safety Stephan Blaylock and running back Kazmeir Allen, just to name a few. With the uptempo style he runs and proven success as a college coach, more and more athletes are taking a look at UCLA.

The possibility of a commitment from Daniels would be big because he is the “prototypical Kelly quarterback”. Not only does he have an amazingly accurate arm, but he has incredible feet which makes him quite the dangerous weapon in the open field.

Last season, he threw for 5,139 yards and 62 touchdowns with a completion percentage of 70. He also added 1,292 yards on the ground with 15 touchdowns. Clearly, he has the goods and if he chooses UCLA, that could do wonders for both parties.

Currently, UCLA does not have a single commitment to the 2019 class, though that might change in the near future, given how scholarships they have offered out. Kelly has a plan, we just have to trust the process.
