In observance of Armed Forces Day (the third Saturday of May), the UCLA Athletic Department has put out a special offer to all U.S. military veterans and those that are still actively serving our country with two free tickets to select home games at the Rose Bowl for the upcoming 2018 season.

The offer includes complimentary tickets to one of the following games: vs Cincinnati (Sat, Sept 1), vs Fresno State (sat, Sept 15) or vs Utah (Fri, Oct 26).

This coming season brings the start fo the Chip Kelly era, a coach that revolutionized college football back when he was the head man at Oregon from 2009-2012. After a few years in the NFL, Kelly is back in the college ranks and looks to evolve the uptempo, run-based spread offense that he made famous up in Eugene.

Though it might take a season or two for Kelly to raise the Bruins to elite status amongst college football blue bloods, we still expect a lot of excitement for the 2018 season.

The Bruins’ offense is picking up where Oregon left off as they will implement a speed-based offense that will implement the use of zone read, RPO and the triple-option. And if that wasn’t enough, UCLA’s defense has adopted a more aggressive and “violent” style of play which could make them one of the toughest defenses in the Pac-12 in the next few years.

Needless to say, it is going to be a fun time in the Arroyo Second this fall. Go Bruins and go U.S.A.!
