ARLINGTON, TX - APRIL 26: Josh Rosen of UCLA reacts after being picked

Former UCLA football player Josh Rosen signs his pro contract the day before rookie mini camp with Arizona begins, which comes with a large signing bonus and an option for a fifth year. Additionally, former Bruin running back Derrick Coleman signs with the Cardinals.

Bruins. Bruins everywhere in Arizona. On Thursday, former UCLA football quarterback Josh Rosen signed his rookie contract with the Arizona Cardinals, the first quarterback to do so of the four that were taken in the Top 10 of the 2018 NFL Draft.

Rosen, who was the 10th overall player to be selected in the draft, has signed a four-year, $17.84 million dollar contract with comes with a signing bonus close to $11 million. The deal also comes with an option for a fifth year after the 2021 season.

The new Cardinal signal caller signed his deal the day before Arizona conducts a three-day rookie minicamp.

Rosen is expected to compete for the starting job, but as of now, it looks as though Sam Bradford has the edge to get the start. Bradford is looking to bounce back from a knee injury that took him out two games into the 2017 season.

If Bradford is not in top form, believe me when I say that Rosen has the tools to take over and lead the Cardinals if given the call. Last season at UCLA, Rosen was second in the nation in passing yards per game with 341.5. That included and offense full of injuries, a skittish offensive line and a low producing run game. Rosen was that good.

Coleman in Arizona

Arizona also landed another Bruin on Thursday as five-year NFL vet, Derrick Coleman, has signed a one-year deal with the Cardinals. Coleman is a proven fullback which is something offensive coordinator Mike McCoy looks to have in circulation. Last season, Coleman played in 14 games for the Atlanta Falcons and collected 20 receiving yards and eight rushing yards.
