UCLA Football: 2018 NFL Combine schedule and information

The NFL Combine has begun and Go Joe Bruin will be following the performances of six former UCLA Football players who are looking to up their stock in the 2018 NFL Draft. Here is who to watch, what to know and when everything is happening.

The UCLA football team had the pleasure of having several fantastic athletes play for them in 2017 and six of them made such an impact that they have been invited to the 2018 NFL Combine.

The week-long event will featuring several top footballers from around the nation. UCLA will be represented by six including QB Josh Rosen, C Scott Quessenberry, OT Kolton Miller, WR Jordan Lasley, DL Matt Dickerson and LB Kenny Young. Players will begin four days of workouts, tests and interviews based on their position. Here is are the start dates for the 11 different position groups (the following information comes from NFL.com):

NFL Combine Group Arrival/Schedule

Day 1 Arrivals: Begins Feb 27 – Ends Mar 2

  • Group 1 (PK, ST, OL), Group 2 (OL), Group 3 (RB)

Day 2 Arrivals: Begins Feb 28 – Ends Mar 3

  • Group 4 (QB, WR), Group 5 (QB, WR), Group 6 (TE)

Day 3 Arrivals: Begins Mar 1 – Ends Mar 4

  • Group 7 (DL), Group 8 (DL), Group 9 (LB)

Day 4 Arrivals: Begins Mar 2 – Mar 5

  • Group 10 (DB), Group 11 (DB)

Each group will have the same four day schedule, but each event will have a different date based on their position. Here is the four-day schedule:

Schedule of Events

  • Day 1 – Registration, Hospital Pre-Exam/X-rays, Overflow Testing, Orientation, Interviews
  • Day 2 – Measurements – Medical Exams, Overflow Testing, Interviews
  • Day 3 – Psychological Testing, NFLPA Meeting, Workouts (PK/ST only), Media, Bench Press, Interviews
  • Day 4 – On-Field Workouts, Departure

NFL Network Broadcast

The NFL Network will broadcast the on-field workouts beginning on Friday March 2. Here is the schedule for position players by date:

  • Friday, March 2 – running backs, offensive linemen, special teams
  • Saturday, March 3 – quarterbacks, wide receivers, tight ends
  • Sunday, March 4 – defensive linemen, linebackers
  • Monday, March 5 – defensive backs

Based on this schedule, Quessenberry and Miller will perform on Friday, Rosen and Lasley on Saturday and Dickerson and Young on Sunday.
