★★★ OG Baraka Beckett 6’4, 280 lbs., (Palisades Pacific/Palisades, CA)

This grade was going to be a lot lower, but the Bruins got a very late NLI which keeps this at a passing grade. The last few seasons, recruiting offensive line men has been a weakness under Jim Mora. The Bruins were looking good with five players committed before the end of this last football season, but a lot has happened since then, which includes Mora being replaced by Kelly.

With that happening, the offensive line was reanalyzed and restructured to try and fit Kelly’s scheme.

Up until 7 p.m. on national signing day, the Bruins only had three O-linemen sign with them, all of which look like projects. UCLA had a commitment from Chris Murray, but it was believed that he would opt out of it as he was not 100% on his decision, or at least others involved were not.

Luckily he stayed with his commitment and the Bruins now have four linemen to show for in the 2018 recruiting class. With this being a position group in dire need of players, this is not a bad collection of signees. They just need more next NSD.
