UCLA football has picked up another commitment for its 2018 recruiting class, as Chip Kelly and Co. went across the country to reel in the pledge of 3-star cornerback Patrick Jolly (Lithia, FL/Newsome) on Sunday afternoon after the completion of Jolly’s official visit to Westwood over the weekend.
Apparently, Chip Kelly and defensive backs coach Paul Rhoads were paying attention to the UCLA career of Fabian Moreau, because the Bruins grabbed the commitment of Patrick Jolly, who, like Moreau, is a high school running back from Florida that projects as a corner on the college level.

Listed at 6-foot-1 and 180 pounds, Jolly is an athletic two-way player who was formerly committed to UCF before Chip Kelly protege Scott Frost and his staff left for Nebraska.
Jolly is a very intriguing cornerback prospect, with ideal measurements for the position and the patience to read a play and use his ability to change directions and speed in an instant to keep up with opposing receivers.
With Jolly now in hand, UCLA’s defensive backs class looks to be just about set. The Bruins offered 3-star cornerback and Bruin legacy recruit Elisha Guidry (Murrieta, CA/Vista Murrieta) today and figure to reel Guidry’s commitment shortly. Additionally, big-hitting 3-star safety Kenny Churchwell (Phoenix, AZ/Mountain Pointe) just completed his official visit to Westwood over the weekend and announced immediately after the visit that he would committing to his school of choice on Friday, January 26.
As a result, it looks likely that UCLA football will be bringing in at least four defensive backs in this class: Jolly, Guidry, Churchwell, and the headliner of the group, 4-star safety and early signee Stephan Blaylock (Bellflower, CA/St. John Bosco)
