In episode 135 of the ‘What’s Bruin Show’, we talk about the return of the UCLA Football as we begin our fourth season of bringing you good UCLA talk!

In this episode, hosts Bill Shirley, Jake Merrifield and I resume our podcastingly duties to bring fans of UCLA Football what they want, information on their Bruins!

We begin this episode by talking about the unofficial start to the Pac-12 football season: Pac-12 Media Day. Last week I was able to get some news and notes from UCLA Football Head Coach Jim Mora and two of his players, center Scott Quessenberry and middle linebacker Kenny Young.

We then discussed some of the information coming out of the Pac-12 which included taking away two-a-day practices, shortening Pac-12 games and why there is still no contract with DirecTV.

We then move into the meat and potatoes of the episode which is UCLA Football. We start off talking about the new uniforms, the new Wasserman center and everything else surrounding the Bruins at the start of this season.

We also try to gauge how UCLA will do in 2017. There seems to be a lot of momentum moving forward, but we also question if it is false hope. College football fans seem to be divided on how UCLA will do this season. Some say they will repeat their 4–8 record from last year, while others think the Bruins will bounce back to 8, 9 or 10 wins.

We also started a new segment in which we will be “Keeping An Eye Out” on UCLA’s opponents as we look at the biggest news coming out of Texas A&M, Hawaii and Memphis.

We then finish up with some listener feedback as we answer some questions and reply to hot takes about UCLA Football this season.
