The UCLA Football team continues their influx of commitments as the Bruins landed 3-star hybrid player Dayven Coleman.
In the last two days, the UCLA Football team has received commitments from three players. On Wednesday, the Bruins got commitments from two running backs, Lentivone Lesane and A.J. Carter (who actually recommitted after flipping to LSU last week).

On Thursday, the Bruins got a pledge on the defensive side as Dayven Coleman (West Mesquite HS/Mesquite, TX) decided that UCLA is where he will be playing his college ball.

At 6’2″, 205 lbs., Coleman has the type of body that allows him to play several different positions. In high school, Coleman went between the linebackers and the secondary and was used for several different roles. He could line up on scrimmage as a pass rusher, can play the outside at cornerback and can defend the open field as a safety.
Not to jump to conclusions, but Coleman’s physical tools are very reminiscent of Myles Jack. He can get at quarterbacks and ball carriers, he can deliver big hits, his on-ball defense is quite impressive and he has very good hands to snatch passes out of the air.
Though he needs to work on some of his mechanics, he has a lot of potential and will make a good addition along with the two other defensive backs committed to the Bruins, 4-star safeties Cam’ron Jones and Stephen Blaylock.

UCLA now has 15 players committed to the 2018 recruiting class. Eleven of those are on offense and six of those are on the defensive side of the ball. Four of those players are 4-star rated. Needless to say, the Bruins are doing work on the trail and should continue to do so up until signing day.
