The UCLA Football team has a new offensive coordinator that will try to bring them back from the dead, but how will that look and what should the Bruins do under Jedd Fisch?

It’s no secret: UCLA Football’s offense struggled in 2016. Following a failed attempt to switch to an exclusive pro-style offense, Offensive Coordinator Kennedy Polamalu was fired.

In his place, former Michigan assistant Jedd Fisch has been called upon to fix a struggling offense in 2017. Fisch served under Jim Harbaugh as the Wolverine’s passing game coordinator for the past two seasons.

If Fisch plans to run an offense similar to Harbaugh’s (power run), and the offensive line is up to the challenge, improving on last season, RB Nate Starks should be in for a monster season. The 5-11 Vegas native is a the best downhill runner in a talented Bruin backfield. The senior-to-be will definitely be a player to watch if Fisch plans to run a power rushing attack.

Though, Thuc Nhi Nguyen of the LA Daily News reports Fisch has characterized his offense as “multiple.”

"“All the offenses that I’ve been around, either coordinated or coached in, have been with multiple personnel groups, multiple tempos, multiple formations, and a good mix of run and pass. That’s going to be who we are,” Fisch said."

This bodes well for UCLA’s young, but inexperienced wide receiver corps. Young gun WR Theo Howard would benefit from a potent passing attack.

As a freshman last season, Howard showed flashes of his ability to be a high end wide receiver but only garnered limited playing time. Rosen needs a go-to-target in 2017 and Howard could be that guy in a complex passing attack orchestrated by Fisch.

I buy what Fisch is selling here. Last season proved that UCLA doesn’t have the appropriate personnel to run out of the I-Formation every play. A complex, efficient offense that keeps the defense guessing could help us all forget about the disastrous 2016 campaign.
