In UCLA Basketball Head Coach Steve Alford’s first season, the Bruins once again found success. Behind point guard Kyle Anderson, the Bruins had nearly captured the regular season Pac-12 title, which was surprising to say the least. But the surprises were not over.

The Bruins were hot in the 2014 Pac-12 Tournament. They had started out by destroying Oregon and then faced Stanford in their semifinal game. It was no contest as the Bruins manhandled the Cardinal behind a game-high 22 points from Norman Powell.

This set up a game which everyone was hoping for, the return of the rivalry between UCLA and Arizona in the championship game.
