UCLA Football Fall Camp Injury Report

After two weeks of fall camp for the UCLA Football team, there have been a small build up of inures, though none have proven to be major (well, maybe one).

With the UCLA Football team gearing up for the season in which they are predicted to win the South Division, the Bruins having been trying to toughen up on offense and defense.

Unfortunately a few injuries have occurred in the process. The good news, so far, is that none of them seem to be major. UCLA Football Head Coach Jim Mora has spoken on each and luckily, except for one, does not seem to be very major and most of the injured players should return to action very soon.

UCLA Football Injury Update

OL Kenny Lacy – Suffered a knee injury. Had an MRI but they came back negative. He is expected to return soon.

DE Deon Hollins – Suffered a concussion, but will return soon.

FB Cameron Griffin – He also suffered a concussion and is expected to participate when the Bruins return to Westwood next week.

LB Breland Brandt – Sustained a minor knee injury but should return in a few days.

DE Takkarist McKinley – Suffered a second minor injury this past week, this time to his groin. He should not be out long and should be able to go full speed by the start of the season.

OL Mike Alves – The freshman has a little bit of knee soreness but should not keep him out of practice long.

LB Marcus Moore – He has yet to participate in fall camp. He has been suffering from a back injury.

OL Paco Perez – Another freshman that has not yet participated in camp, Perez is recovering from a knee injury and could start practice next week in Westwood.

WR Theo Howard – Howard is back in action after sustaining a hamstring injury.

DE Jacob Tuioti-Mariner – He might have the most severe inury, though it was not sustain due to football activities. He is suffering from appendicitis and could have surgery to resolve it. No timetable for his return.

WR Alex Van Dyke – Suffered a groin injury and it does not seem to be a major.

LB Mique Juarez – The freshman linebacker still has an excused absence from team activities.
