2016 NFL Draft First Round Grades
The first round of the NFL Draft went off last night in Chicago. If you’ve followed any of the Go Joe Bruin crew on twitter, you know that, for UCLA Bruins fans, there was one bright spot (Kenny Clark at 27 to the Green Bay Packers) amidst a night of baffling frustration as all-world linebacker and athletic marvel Myles Jack did not hear his name called.
We knew that Jack’s stock was likely to suffer due to concerns about his knee injury, but I think most of us were expecting him to fall from the 5-7 range down to, say, the 12-15 range, not clear to the second round. Jack is taking things in stride, probably aided by the $5 million he’ll get from his insurance from having fallen out of the first round.
But stepping back a bit, here’s a larger picture of how the night went, and how each team fared in the first round.
Lesson: the NFL is dumb and should feel dumb for missing out on a generational talent like Myles Jack.
