2. The Sonic (BOOM!) Youth

There are benefits to enrolling early and several new Bruins are using that to their advantage. This year, UCLA Football was graced with the presence of nine players starting their collegiate football careers this spring.

Unfortunately, we will most likely not see stud linebackers Mique Juarez and Breland Brandt who are recovering after sustaining concussions and WR Demetric Felton who might be out until fall with a shoulder injury.

Still, the six others should be a very active part of the on-field goings on, especially three that have really stood out so far this spring.

WR Theo Howard has been very impressive with his raw skills and has seen time with the first team offense. Look for him as a deep-ball threat in the passing game.

QB Matt Lynch has been looking very good in the last two weeks and will be battling for the backup quarterback spot. Kicker JJ Molson has a solid foot and is already owning kicking duties. I wouldn’t be surprised if he hits a 60-yard field goal, just to show that he can.
