With all the UCLA Football talent leaving early for the NFL Draft, a few juniors are deciding to stay and finish out their time at UCLA. The latest to return is junior LB Deon Hollins.

Boom! The UCLA Football team got some great news today as junior linebacker Deon Hollins is reportedly returning for his senior season.

Hollins is the second big name underclassman that has decided to return to school and finish out his eligibility. Earlier this week, OL Conor McDermott made it known that he will be returning for his fourth and final year. The Bruins will be losing three offensive linemen tis off-season.

Hollins made his decision known via Twitter through his father, Deon Hollins, Sr., who is an avid Twitter user and #UCLATwitter fan favorite.

In his statement, the younger Hollins wrote that it has always been his dream to play professional football, “but I’ve also had other aspirations and some of those are obtaining my college degree and competing for a national title with my teammates. I believe that Coach [Jim] Mora and his staff have an excellent plan in place for us to reach this goal.”

Hollins had played in 11 games his true freshman season on special teams and as a back-up LB. It was in 2014 when “Ferrari D58”, as he is known, emerged as a premier linebacker and pass rusher.

He led the Bruins with 9 sacks that season, three of which came in the season finale at the Alamo Bowl where he had Kansas State QB Jake Waters running for his life.

This season, Hollins finished with 18 tackles, 4.5 tackles for a loss, 2.5 sacks, 3 pass deflections and 2 recovered fumbles. With Hollins returning, the Bruins will continue to have experience behind the line with Jayon Brown, Kenny Young and Isaako Savaiinaea solidifying the position group.

Welcome back Deon and Go Bruins!
