The UCLA Bruins pulled off a stunning upset over the #7 Arizona Wildcats capped by a 3-pointer from Bryce Alford.

Did you see it Bruin fans? It was the shot that killed the Cat. UCLA‘s Bryce Alford hit a shot with two seconds left to give UCLA (10-6, 1-2) the lead and the eventual win over Pac-12 basketball arch rival, the #7 Arizona Wildcats (13-2, 1-1), with an 87-84 victory.

Arizona had tied the game at 84 with 10.7 seconds left. That gave UCLA enough time to make a play. After a quick timeout, Alford took over as he casually approached the 3-point line and, well, check it out of yourselves…

Boom! Alford’s three put UCLA up 87-84 as he casually strolled away, but not without Pauley Pavilion going crazy in the process. The best part… having UCLA’s guest of honor, Russell Westbrook, go crazy right behind Alford.

Though there were a few seconds left in the game, UCLA was able to steal the ball and prevent a final shot by the Wildcats. And just like that, UCLA won in stunning fashion, knocking off the #7 team in the nation and giving Arizona their first loss in conference play.

Despite the fact that it was “Russell Westbrook Night” as UCLA was honoring their former player for his huge contribution to the Mo Ostin Basketball Center, the big man on campus this night is Bryce Alford.

With this win, UCLA not only takes down their third Top 25 team this season, but they also get their first win in the Pac-12 Conference after losing two straight up in the state of Washington last week. So how do you like that?

Go Bruins!
